The Piedmont Lancers Girls Volleyball team finished 2017 with its first winning season since the volleyball program was reintroduced in 2015. Led by a group of third-year players, the team ended with a 4-2 win/loss record and a trip to the BUSD North Division league playoffs as runner-up to Russell Middle School.
The third-year players that have been with the team since the 6th grade include Rachel Raju, Sierra O’Leary, Angela Le, and Paige Caditan. Rachel and Sierra both served as team captains over the past two years. Rounding out the team were talented second-year and new players who played significant roles in this year’s team.
For 2018, the team will be led by another third-year player, Trinity O’Leary, along with some experienced returnees. The team encourages positive interaction and support for each other, and looks forward to new spotting new talent at tryouts next February.
The Lancers Girls Volleyball team thanks all who supported them this year, the school administration, and especially parents and family who have seen the program continue to grow and improve each year.

Boys Volleyball Go To Top of Page

The boys volleyball team had an outstanding season. With only two returning players, it was a season of developing and learning. The boys won five out of their six league games and placed second overall in league. Four of the wins were in game three overtime.

It was an outstanding group who loved to learn about volleyball, had great attitudes, and made every practice fun. Their positivity reflected on the court and they were always doing team chants to support their teammates. The boys brought the energy each and every game and had an amazing season!
